s e r o architects is an office of practice and research in architecture, urbanism and landscape design currently based in Thessaloniki. It was founded in 2004 in Rotterdam by Sebastian Duque and Roubini Makridou
Sebastian Duque
Born in 1973 (Bogotá, Colombia). Architect from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogotá). Master of Excellence in architecture from the Berlage Institute, Rotterdam. PhD Aristotle University of Thessaloniki : "Displacement Settlements, In search for the architectural principles of urban informality", Tutor: Dr. V. Tentokali. Between 1996 and 2003 he worked for architecture offices like Dedalus and ODA in Bogotá, as well as MVRDV and Vandenmunckhofhartzema studio in Rotterdam. He has taken part in international competitions and exhibitions. Since 2004 he is principal in sero architects practicing architecture in Bogotá and Thessaloniki. Currently he is scientific collaborator at EPFL's CNPA laboratory.
Roubini Makridou
Born in 1974 (Thessaloniki, Greece). Architect from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Master of Excellence in architecture from the Berlage Institute, Rotterdam with the thesis "Folded Urbanity" tutored by Elia Zenggelis and exhibited at "digital topo_graphies" in Thessaloniki and Athens in 2004. She has taken part in several international competitions collaborating with architects of different nationalities and backgrounds including the winning project for Guangzhou TV Tower led by Information Based Architects; as well as honourable-mention prised: "i_cloud" info-point for UIA Turin 2008. Since 2004 she is principal in sero architects practicing architecture in Bogotá and Thessaloniki. Currently she is a researcher at EPFL's CNPA laboratory.
